WESTECH's aquatics staff has collected and analyzed nearly 2,300 macroinvertebrate samples from Montana alone. We have also conducted macroinvertebrate surveys in Idaho and Oregon.
The aquatics section offers to:
- conduct Levels I - IV (Rosgen) stream assessment and classification;
- design a macroinvertebrate sampling program to meet your needs;
- collect macroinvertebrate samples using one of a variety methods including Surber net, Hess net, drift net, kick net, and Hester-Dendy plate sampling;
- subsample or analyze the entire sample to the lowest practical taxon;
- identify the family Chironomidae to at least the genus level;
- analyze the data using some 25 metrics;
- compile all of the physical and biological data into a graphically illustrated narrative which provides a detailed physical and biological assessment of the stream's existing condition.
