ENVIRONMENTAL INVENTORIES: VEGETATION, SOILS, NOXIOUS WEEDS, AND WILDLIFE
Projects can range from brief reconnaissances to complete baseline studies. They can be conducted as discrete single-discipline investigations or as part of a comprehensive multidisciplinary package. Environmental inventories provide a description of the existing environment before project development.
WESTECH has expertise in several disciplines, including:
WESTECH maintains an extensive, in-house library of published and unpublished vegetation, soils, noxious weeds and wildlife literature. Included in this collection are current subscriptions to the Journal of Range Management, Journal of Wildlife Management, Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, Wildlife Review, Fisheries Review, Great Basin Naturalist, Proceedings of the Montana Academy of Sciences, Prairie Naturalist and several other technical journals that regularly publish or summarize scientific literature. In addition, WESTECH files contain more than seven thousand reprints, agency technical reports, books, microfiche, theses and environmental impact assessments. Personnel frequently visit libraries at both Montana universities to update certain literary needs. In addition, WESTECH regularly sponsors personnel to professional meetings of interest.
